Pakistan nationals arrested in Bengaluru: No terror links found so far
CCB sleuths found the three arrested had made phones calls to kin in Pakistan.
Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths and officials of central investigating agencies who are investigating the possible links of the three arrested Pakistani nationals with terrorist organisations have reportedly so far not found any such links.
The Pakistani nationals Sameera alias Najma (25), her cousin Khasif Shamshuddin (31) and his wife Kiron Ghulam Ali (25) were staying in the city for the last nine months. A Keralite man Mohammed Shihab (26), who had married Najma in Qatar, had helped them and even procured Aadhar cards for them.
The investigators found that the Pakistani nationals were in touch with their relatives in Pakistan over phone. The sleuths have gathered the call details and are investigating.
It is learnt that the police have also intimated Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) about the case and requested the ministry for detailed information about the arrested persons from Pakistan.
The arrested Pakistani nationals had plans to settle down in India as Najma had married Shihab against her parents' will.
Police said Shihab was working as an office boy in Qatar since 2012, while Najma was a domestic help. They fell in love and as Shihab hailed from India, they decided to settle down here.
There are also suspicions that the Pakistani nationals and the Keralite man were part of a ‘big conspiracy’ and wanted to settle down as sleeper cells.
