A silent protest took off at Town Hall, Gandhi Statue near Mayura Circle and Koramangala Sony World Signal. Popular visual artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy unveiled his 10 by 10 work depicting slow death of lungs. It will be on display till June 4. “It is our responsibility to wean youth off tobacco and spread awareness on the harm it causes" said Suresh Ramu, CEO, Cytecare Cancer Hospitals.
Doctors from Healthcare Global Enterprises Ltd - The Specialist in Cancer Care and cancer survivors from Pink Hope Cancer Patient Support Group organised the Silent Protest #BanTobacco. KSRTC MD Umashankar said his organization had staged a street play at Mysore Satellite bus station and announced collaboration with NGOs, to help employees quit smoking.
