Hyderabad: Man butchers murder accused at Rudraram
Suspect was last seen going towards Sangareddy.
Hyderabad: In a brutal incident on NH 65 in Rudraram, Patancheru, Sangareddy district, on the city outskirts, a man accused in a murder case was chased and hacked to death by his rivals.
Hundreds of motorists on the road stopped and watched as the assailant, who hacked the victim with a butcher knife, ran away. He was also carrying a revolver in his other hand.
A video of the horrifying incident has gone viral on social media, as onlookers captured the brutal episode on their mobile phones.
Mehmood Pasha, 35, an unemployed resident of Bholkpur, Musheerabad, had previously been booked along with his partner Arshad Hussain for smuggling public distribution rice in Hyderabad following which, the duo developed certain disputes.
Pasha and others killed Arshad within Patancheru police station limits. A case (521/2018) was then registered in Patancheru, and Pasha was the prime accused. The case was charge-sheeted and was under trial at a court in Sangareddy.
At about 11 am on Friday, after attending the court hearing, Pasha was returning to the city on his two-wheeler when he was intercepted by two persons on NH 65 near . Upon noticing the knife in possession of one of the accused, Pasha left his two-wheeler and ran for his life.
The accused chased and hacked him to death as hundreds of commuters witnessed the gory incident.
The passersby did not dare to come forward to rescue the victim after they noticed that the assailant was carrying a knife in his right hand and a revolver in the left. After killing Pasha, the suspect ran to the other side of the road and sped away towards Sangareddy with his aide.
The public alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Traffic came to a halt for at least half an hour as a result of the incident, but the police eventually managed to resolve the situation.
Sangareddy SP S. Chandrashekar Reddy said that the motive of the murder was suspected to be the rivalry between Arshad Hussain and Pasha’s families. The latter had killed the former and was returning from the court when he was hacked to death, he said.
"The video proves that the accused was carrying a revolver. Suspects have been identified as Syed and Baba, the brother and brother-in-law of the deceased Arshad. Our teams are doing their best to nab them at the earliest," he said.
