Many city residents who had given their biometric data for Aadhaar care also failed to stick to the deadline.

Governement has made it compulsory to link Aadhaar with PAN.

Bengaluru: Even though Friday was the last date to link Aadhaar with PAN number, nearly half of the Bengaluru citizens could not stick to the deadline due to the various technical reasons.

Many city residents who had given their biometric data for Aadhaar care also failed to stick to the deadline because no information was available about their Aadhaar details on the www. uidai. gov.in.

According to the several city residents who failed to link via sending text messages, as well as website link, the income tax department site was slow, while UIDAI site was not responsive.

"The Link was provided on incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/ Services/ Link AadhaarHome.html. But strangely when I tried to link aadhaar with pan number, it was showing technical errors in UIDAI website. I tried many times, but failed,” said Sunanda Kumari, a resident of Whitefield. "Aadhaar card was launched recently, while Pan card has been around for decades. There is difference in the address and other details. It might be the reason. But I really don't know why all these problems are happening,” she added. But an officer from UIDAI claimed that there were no glitches. "Lakhs of people have already linked. Few may be facing issues. They can get corrections done online,” said an officer.
