Tom Jose assumes charge as Chief Secretary of Kerala

Jose will have tenure till May 31 2020.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tom Jose took charge as the new chief secretary of the state here on Saturday. He took over from Paul Antony. Jose was additional chief secretary, (of Labor & Skills, Excise and Water Resources ). A 1984 batch IAS officer, he began his career as sub collector of Thrissur and Pathanamthitta districts. Jose will have tenure till May 31 2020. Additional chief secretaries P.H. Kurien, Asha Thomas, Rajeev Sadanandan, former chief secretary K.M. Abraham and senior officers were present in Secretariat when Jose took charge.

An MBA from the CUSAT, Jose had earlier served in New Delhi as director ministry of defence  handling weapon acquisition, air traffic, management and personal management  and chief coordinator for military technical cooperation between India and Russia based in Moscow. Jose held various positions in the state including Kerala Civil  Sup-plies Corporation, Kerala State Construction Corporation and Kerala State Inland Navigation Corporation. He was also of MD of KMRL and Kerala Academy of Skills Excellence.
