3 from Telangana State die in Saudi

Family was on way to Madina when car hit camel.

Hyderabad: Three members of a family that migraged from Hyderabad died in a road accident while on their way to Madina. The family had migrated to Saudi a long time ago. They were on their way to Madina in a four-wheeler when it rammed into a camel that suddenly crossed on the road.

The vehicle overrturned after the accident, claiming the lives of three passengers. Their relatives in the city requested the government to help them bring back their mortal remains to Hyderabad.

Hyderabad resident Syed Ali, brother-in-law of Syed Zainul Abideen, one of the victims, said, “They were traveling in their vehicle from Mecca to Madina on the Jeddah highway late in the night on Friday when a camel suddenly came in front of the car. Abideen rammed the car into the camel and the vehicle overturned.” He said there were four persons in the vehicle at that time: Abideen, 70, his wife Syeda Atya Banu, 50, and two children Syed Murtuza, 17, and Syed Ismail, 13.  The couple and Murtuza died in the accident.

Mr Syed Ali added, “We learnt about the accident on Saturday morning. One of our relatives who stays in Riyadh flew to Madina and confirmed the identity of the deceased in the evening.”

The younger son, Ismail, was admitted to a hospital in Maca. Consulate General of India, Jeddah, posted on its official Twitter handle: “We have established contact with the family. The child is admitted to a hospital in Mecca. Our medical in-charge is visiting him. All possible assistance is being extended to them.”
