Government ensuring water for all hospitals: Dr C. Vijayabaskar
More than five lakh outpatients and 80,000 in-patients were getting treated every day.
TIRUCHY: The Tamil Nadu Government has been making all-out efforts for solving the present drinking water crisis, especially supplying water on priority basis to all the Government hospitals across the state, where more than five lakh outpatients and 80,000 in-patients were getting treated every day, said the State Health Minister Dr C. Vijayabaskar.
He told newsmen at Tiruchy on Sunday that efforts were also underway to increase the number of ambulance vehicles to 1,000. He said the basic civil work on the Rs 1,600 crore AIIMS-like hospital Near Madurai has commenced. When a reporter drew his attention to the fact that despite Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government hospital attached to the Dr K.A.P. Viswanatham Government medical college having modern and sophisticated facilities, the college dean Dr Saradha got herself admitted to a private hospital for her ailment, the minister replied that it was her wish.
