AP to Receive Heavy Rains from Monday
Visakhapatnam: Indian Meteorological Department, Amaravati, has forecast heavy to very heavy rains for coastal Andhra Pradesh from July 3 to July 5.
IMD scientist Dr. S. Karunasagar said Krishna and West Godavari districts will receive rainfall ranging from 12 cm to 15 cm on July 4. A flood threat also looms large in the two districts.
Incidentally, the state has had a deficit rainfall of 60 per cent in June.
In the interim, temperatures have increased in many parts of the state for the second day on Saturday. Jangamaheswarapuram in Palnadu district recorded a temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius, 5.5 degrees more than the normal maximum temperature.
Tuni recorded 40.6 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees higher than the normal temperature, the highest increase so far in the state. Gannavaram recorded 39.9 degrees Celsius, up by 4.6 degrees Celsius, and Visakhapatnam Airport recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius, 3.5 degrees above normal.
