Vijayawada: Pawan Kalyan's rally stalls traffic for an hour
Rally halted at every centre en route the Secretariat.
Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan's rally from Gannavaram airport to the AP Secretariat has increased the woes of motorists on Monday morning. Mr Kalyan, who reached Gannavaram by 9.45 am, has proceeded to the Secretariat by road in a rally with 200 cars and around 500 bikes following him. This created a traffic jam for more than an hour.
The rally halted at almost every centre en route the Secretariat. At Ramavarappadu, the rally stopped for more than 10 minutes. Police blocked the connecting roads of NH-16 from Enikepadu to Ramavarappadu Ring and thousands of motorists waited for more than an hour. "Pawan Kalyan's rally created traffic jam and we have waited for nearly an hour. It has become prevalent in the recent times for the city police to block traffic in the name of CM's convoy and rallies," complained Nagendra Puppala, a resident of Enikepadu. The city police, considering the huge traffic problem in the city, diverted Mr Kalyan's convoy to the Benz Circle and then to Eluru Road.
