A complaint was filed by the BJP's youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday for her statement against the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

As per a report in The Telegraph, the complaint accused her of inciting "hatred and tension" among communities with the intention of derailing the National Register of Citizens update.

The complaint was filed at Naharkatia police station in Upper Assam's Dibrugarh district. It would be referred to their headquarters in Guwahati, said an officer of Naharkatia police station.

Earlier in the day, Mamata had warned that exclusion of 4 million people from National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam could lead to “bloodbath” and a “civil war” in the country. She also accused the Modi government of trying to make millions of people “stateless” in Assam for political gains.
