Mysuru: The rajmatha of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, Ms Pramodadevi Wadiyar, feels that the demand for a separate state of North Karnataka is not right.  “It should not happen. The state government must instead focus on development of the region,” she told reporters after participating in a programme here on Tuesday.

She said, “If we start demanding statehood for all regions, the country will be divided into pieces. We must stay united. Compared to other regions, North Karnataka  remains backward. The Chief Minister must take appropriate decisions for the development of the region. The state government must extend the facilities needed for North Karnataka.”

‘Wadiyar’
When asked about the title of the Darshan starrer, ‘Wadiyar’ which is coming up, she said, “We have written to those concerned  regarding the title, on the day the shooting took off. We are yet to get a response. If there is no link to the title and the royal family, we do not have any objection. If it is related to the royal family, we will object,” Ms Wadiyar said.
