Hyderabad: Panic gripped Kukatpally area after a resident reported seeing a leopard. A resident of Kukatpally took a photo on Wednesday between Pragati Nagar and Gajula Ramaram and informed the forest department officials.

Forest officials said that the photo which was taken by the resident was a low light photo and its not clear whether it is a jungle cat or leopard.

“The size of the spotted animal was small in comparison to a leopard. We cannot be sure that it is a leopard. The fecal matter found in the area also resembles like a jungle cat’s.” said Mr A. Shankaran, senior official of the forest department “We tried to look for the pugmark but we could not get any because of the rocky terrain and there is a lot of vegetation. We have kept the area under our surveillance and we have also installed cameras to record the movement of the animal” added Mr Shankaran.
