Telangana high court rejects plea claiming title of Heera Group land
The property was attached by TS government.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday refused to delete a major property from the Property-Attached List of the Heera Group of Companies, which had been attached by the state government in connection with the cases registered again-st the Group and its Chairman Nowhera Shaik.
Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy dismissed the petition filed by Syed Mohammed, Syed Hamza and eight others, challenging the attachment of land admeasuring 32,406 sq yards (approximately 6.25 acres) at Toli Chowki in Shaikpet village of Hyderabad district.
The petitioners approached the court, stating that the property did not belong to Heera Group and they had obtained title decree on the said land from the lower court.
The petitioners submitted that the land belonged to the Estates properties of Nawab Salar Jung-3 (Yousuf Ali Khan) in the Nizam era and it was allotted to their ancestors by the receiver-cum-commissioner, who was appointed by the court in 1959. They also told the court that the land had been in possession by some other private companies, but they got a decree of title and possession in 2018 by the lower court.
Disagreeing with the contentions of the petitioners, the team of investigation officers probing the scam informed the court that they had attached the said property after they came to know about the full details of the properties during the investigation.
Considering the police version, the court dismissed the petitioner’s plea.
