Stay away from those making a living from agitations: Chennai police commissioner
Students need to help others and develop themselves. They can enter into politics in future and bring changes, police commissioner said.
Chennai: Chennai city police commissioner A.K. Viswanathan on Friday said some persons and outfits have made careers out of organising agitations and appealed to the students to stay clear of them in the interest of their future.
A day after the video of brandishing machetes by Presidency College students have gone viral, Mr.A.K. Viswanathan addressed the students in their college.
“Action of few students brings disrepute to all the students studying in the college. Students should concentrate on their studies and develop good habits,” he advised.
Bad deeds are spreading faster among the public.
Recalling his student days at Presidency Colege he said, “I was awestruck when I entered this college as a student as it had produced Nobel Laureates and several stalwarts.”
“I could not study Chemistry as I was not interested in the subject and later moved on to history,” he said urging students to pursue the field they are interested.
Suggesting to students that they can enter into politics later he said, “Students need to help others and develop themselves. They can enter into politics in future and bring changes.”
“But they need to be careful about some people and outfits who had made a career out of agitations,” he warned.
