Escaped COVID prisoners yet to be traced, Hyderabad police launch mega hunt

Hyderabad: With no clue about the four COVID-19 prisoners who escaped from Gandhi Hospital on August 27, the special teams of the Hyderabad city police on a hunt to nab them.

Two convicts M Somasunder, 20, and P Narsaiah, 41, and two undertrials Md Abdul Arbaz, 21, and Md Javed, 35, were admitted to Gandhi Hospital after they tested for COVID-19. The four prisoners were put in the prisoner’s ward situated on the second floor of the hospital on August 27.
A police official who is part of the probe said, “The prisoners are still absconding. So far no clues have been identified, but we are hopeful of nabbing them soon.”
