Conspiracy on to target N Chandrababu Naidu: TD
It's the first time in recent times that I-T searches have continued for three days at the residence of any person.
Hyderabad: The Income Tax department is learnt to have summoned ‘cash for vote’ case accused Bishop Harry Sebastian and Rudra Uday Simha for questioning on Monday, followed by Congress leader A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, turning up the political heat in the Telugu states.
TD leaders see these developments as an attempt to target Mr Naidu after he moved out of the National Democratic Alliance and lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and formed a grand alliance with the Congress in Telangana to take on the ruling TRS.
They cite the sequence of events which unfolded during the past three days with the I-T raids on the residence of Mr Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on charges of money laundering and tax evasion, which was followed by the questioning of Harry Sebastian and Uday Simha, who are accused in the ‘cash for vote’ case.
It’s the first time in recent times that I-T searches have continued for three days at the residence of any person. Though the ostensible reason for the investigation was suspicion of money laundering, the real aim was to know the source of the bribe amount offered to Elvis Stephenson.
Going by the pace at which the investigation is being done, the ‘cash for vote’ case will turn up the political heat in both the Telugu states in the first week of October.
