Hyderabad: Licence of kidney centre cancelled
He alleged that the concerned authorities were not responding to his complaint about the violations since 2012.
Hyderabad: Following the observations of the High Court observations and warning to the authorities, the chairman of the District Registration Authority and the District Medical and Health Officer of Karimnagar cancelled the registration of Venkateswara Kidney Centre in Karimnagar as it had flouted various norms and rules.
While dealing with a plea regarding the state machinery’s negligent attitude over a complaint two weeks before, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice A. Abhishek Reddy had warned the authorities of medical and health, municipality, fire services and police department of severe consequences if they failed to take action against the hospital which was functioning in a building without mandatory setbacks and fire safety measures.
An appeal was filed by Chalimeda Laxmi Narasimha Rao, owner of the neighboring building in which the hospital was in operation, expressing anxiety that if any untoward incident occurred, it may cause grave danger to his property and inmates of his house.
He alleged that the concerned authorities were not responding to his complaint about the violations since 2012. The building was allegedly built with two unauthorised floors above the regularised third floor and there was an illegal cellar.
Mr Rao also submitted that the management had been operating the hospital with 51 beds in a residential zone, whereas the government rules allow only 20 beds.
