WARANGAL: An anganwadi worker at Ambedkarnagar in Thorrur mandal of Mahabubabad district tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. After the result became known, students at the anganwadi centre and primary school were sent back home.

About a week ago, a vaccination drive was held on the premises despite the school running with 160 students. Locals blamed the authorities for holding the vaccination camp on the school premises, posing a threat to nursing mothers and young children who visit the anganwadi centre.

About 15 people who were in contact with the anganwadi underwent Rapid Antigen Tests for Covid-19 at the local primary health centre but were reported to be negavite.

Thorrur deputy medical and health officer Dr Gundala Muralidhar collected information regarding the students from Anganwadi teacher J. Lalitha and school principal Raja Sukanya.
