Revanth: K Chandrasekhar Rao favouring AP contractors
Revanth Reddy on Monday accused KCR of helping only Andhra-based contractors favouring them in all government projects.
Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on the TRS and the function of the state government, TS TD working president A. Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of helping only Andhra-based contractors favouring them in all government projects, while Telangana native people were given only sub-contracts. Addressing the TD youth wing state executive meeting here, Mr Reddy said that of the contracts worth about '2 lakh-crore awarded by the state government during its 2.5 year rule, contracts worth over '1.90 lakh-crore were given to contractors based in AP.
He said several key departments are headed by Andhra-born officials and even officials around IT minister K.T. Rama Rao were from that region. Mr Reddy said that Congress MP K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao still commanded the TRS government as evident by the government’s awarding of contracts to Andhra firms suspected to be owned by him. The TD leader added that during GHMC polls, the CM had given tickets to 20-odd Andhra settlers, but denied tickets to leaders from Mahbubnagar and other districts settled in Hyderabad. Referring to the TRS branding the TD as an ‘Ándhra party’, Mr Reddy said that the TD was born in March, 1982 in Telangana and subsequently spread to other states.
