Actor Bhuvaneswari appears before Madras HC
She submitted that the petitioner's daughter is not in her custody and she was in no way connected with the case.
Chennai: South Indian Film and Television actor Bhuvaneswari on Tuesday appeared before the Madras high court in connection with a habeas corpus petition, which alleged that a girl is in illegal custody of the actor.
Bhuvaneswari appeared before a division bench comprising Justices Rajiv Shakdher and N. Sathish Kumar when the HCP filed by Chandrakumar, a Sri Lankan national came up for hearing. She submitted that the petitioner’s daughter is not in her custody and she was in no way connected with the case.
Petitioner’s daughter also appeared before the bench and submitted that she moved out of her home and married Bhuvaneswari’s adopted son Mithun Srinivasan on her own volition.
Directing the girl to produce her marriage certificate during the next hearing, the bench, recorded the submissions and posted to November 21, further hearing of the case.
In his HCP, Chandrakumar submitted that his 23-year-old daughter went missing on August 8 but later she was rescued from the custody of Bhuvaneswari. However, again on August 17, she vanished from their relative’s house in Trichy. He alleged that his daughter was in the illegal custody of Bhuvaneswari and Mithun.
