Tamil Nadu CM assures all measures to control dengue in state

Salem: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday said every step is being taken to ensure that incidence of dengue is brought down in Tamil Nadu and asked people to clean their neighbourhood.

Reviewing the development projects and situation arising out of dengue infections in Salem district with collector Rohini R. Bhajiahare and other officials, Palaniswami said the district administration was implementing dengue prevention measures effectively.

“Public should be made aware that dengue causing mosquito breeds from stagnated water and school students also should join the initiative to create awareness in their residential areas. Special medical care is being provided at government hospitals and primary health centres to treat patients,” the CM said.
 He also said hospitals have been equipped with modern testing machines, which provide result within 40 seconds, for dengue infection.

Commenting on measures implemented for helping farmers, he said that desilting of lakes and ponds is a boon for farmers across state.

“The drought condition was tackled properly with the help of various government officials and drinking water issue was solved. The NE monsoon is expected to bring more rain for the state and precaution measures have already been taken by district administrations. The government has also initiated required steps to save rain water in reservoirs and to recharge groundwater source for improving agricultural activities,”he said.
