Balram told to explain post
Mr Chennithala told reporters that there was no confusion among the party leaders about the stand of Mr Rahul Gandhi on the Sabarimala issue.
Thiruvananthapuram: Youth MLA V. T. Balram will face the music from the KPCC for his uncharitable comment on Congress president Rahul Gandhi which was made in a Facebook post last week.
Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala said here on Wednesday that the KPCC would seek an explanation from Mr Balram for comparing Rahul Gandhi with Rahul Easwar. KPCC president Mullapally Ramachandran also flared up at Mr Balram while talking to reporters in Palakkad.
Mr Balram, in his Fac-ebook post on October 26, had welcomed the arrest of Rahul Easwar for his provocative comments in connection with the Sabarimala issue, while KPCC working president K. Sudhaka-ran opposed it. Mr Balram said that RSS goons had been trying to create riots by shedding blood and passing urine at Sannidhanam. It was the duty of the state administration to book these criminals, he said and added, “please remember, Rahul Gandhi, not Rahul Easwar, is our party’s leader.”
Mr Chennithala told reporters that there was no confusion among the party leaders about the stand of Mr Rahul Gandhi on the Sabarimala issue. Answering a question, he said Mr Balram’s words were inappropriate.“The KPCC has decided to seek an explanation from Balram,” he said.
Mr Mullapally, who had come to Palakkad to inaugurate the state-level programme on Indira Gandhi's death anniversary, asked, "who is Rahul Easwar"? He warned that none is above the party and said Mr Balram’s words had caused huge damage to the party.
“The KPCC has decided to seek an explanation from Balram on his controversial statement,” he said.
A visibly upset Mullapally added that Mr Balram was immature and childish. None will be allowed to violate party discipline, he said.
