Hyderabad: Two journalists threaten jail warden
The teak was carried to Ramagundam by Bhaskara Chary, the jail warden for puja purpose.
Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police has booked cases against two TV journalists for threatening a TS Prisons warden who was carrying teak worth Rs 3,000 with him to Ramagundam.
According to the Railway police officials, the case has been booked against Ramesh and Narsing under section 385 (Putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion) read with 34 of IPC and an investigation has been started.
The complaint was filed after the channel made allegations against the warden and the Prisons DG that teak worth crores was being smuggled to Patna from Hyderabad.
“The teak was carried to Ramagundam by Bhaskara Chary, the jail warden for puja purpose. He had purchased the wood for Rs 2,900 from one Kareem, a shop owner in Goshamahal,” the police said, adding that the name of the channel they work for was not mentioned in the complaint copy.
