Kurnool: 20 injured in stray dog attack
After attacking some people at Srinivasanagar, the dogs attacked the people in the adjacent streets too.
Kurnool: Stray dogs attacked at least 20 people of Nandyal town on Wednesday. Out of the 20 persons, three were children.
All the victims were rushed to the local government hospital where treatment is being extended. Five of them suffered severe injuries. According to available sources, Mahesh, Venkatramana, Giri, Ramesh and Subbaiah were badly bitten by the dogs while they were walking on the roads at Srinivasanagar and Atmakur road. After attacking some people at Srinivasanagar, the dogs attacked the people in the adjacent streets too.
The victims alleged that despite lodging several complaints with the municipality, the civic staff did not take steps to catch the stray dogs.
The number of stray dogs has been increasing in the town and the children, aged people fear to go out alone. Mahesh, one of the victims, said that it has turned into a great nuisance.
People are unable to sleep at night, fearing the howling dogs. He urged for immediate action to drive out the stray dogs from the town.
