Thomas Cook to help promote Kerala tourism
The employees of Thomas Cook India have also contributed to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
Alappuzha: Leading travel and financial services company, Thomas Cook, is playing its part in reviving Kerala tourism which has been hit hard by the recent floods.
It has planned to expand its product portfolio based on the ground survey by its representatives on tourist destinations and renewed its Kerala outreach to the corporate MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) sector.
According to Mr. Rajeev Kale, president and country head - holidays, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, the company has expanded its services to 40 package itineraries, including family holidays, honeymoon packages, group-departure series, air-inclusive tours, experiential journeys and ayurveda-spa-wellness programme.
"Our teams across India have highlighted the resurgence of Kerala and we have recorded a growth of over over 10 percent compared to the previous year. Kerala is firmly back on the tourist map," he said.
The employees of Thomas Cook India have also contributed to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. The company has highlighted the operational status of Kerala's airports, hotels and houseboats and key destination circuits, including Thekkady, Periyar, Wayanad, Varkala, Kovalam and Munnar.
Mr. P Bala Kiran, director, Kerala Tourism, said that tourism had bounced back to service its visitors again. "Kerala has restored the connectivity, infrastructure and tourism experience for the millions of tourists visiting the state. All the major tourism destinations are back to normal and tourists will have a wonderful experience," he said.
