New Delhi: A Lok Sabha member of ruling BJP on Thursday equated Opposition protests in the Lok Sabha to wrestling and said if it had been real action, no lawmaker would have been able to defeat him.

"No MP can defeat me in wrestling but the way the Opposition is playing 'kushti' (wrestling) in Parliament and disrupting the House is not done," said Virendra Singh, who is from Uttar Pradesh, evoking a peal of laughter in the House.

His remarks during Question Hour came when the House was discussing an issue related to sports facilities in schools and the Opposition members were creating uproar.

While responding to supplementaries raised by him, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Vijay Goel, in an apparent reference to the protesting Opposition members, said "inki kushti alag hai (their wrestling is different)".

Opposition parties have been stalling Parliament by creating pandemonium over demonetisation ever since Winter Session of Parliament started on November 16.
