Guntur: Doctor Narendar Reddy gets global recognition

GUNTUR: The famous orthopaedic surgeon, Dr B. Narendar Reddy of Guntur city, secured place in the World Records Academy of US for performing free knee transplant surgeries in GGH. AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu appreciated the services of Dr Narendar Reddy and urged him to continue the same. There are 20,000 orthopedic surgeons in India affiliated to Indian Orthopedic Association (IOA) and IOA called the surgeons to perform free surgeries to the poor and needy.
Responding to the call, Dr Narendar Reddy performed 10 knee replacement surgeries in one day in the (GGH) in Guntur in August, 2016, by donating knee implants worth Rs 10 lakh. He has been continuing free surgeries in GGH on every Wednesday and Friday. Recognising the services of Dr Narendar Reddy, the World Records Academy, Miami, USA, registered his name and issued a certificate and medal.
Dr Reddy said that 900 life members of IOA performed 1,374 free surgeries in 24 states of India in last August, as part of national bone and joint day. He said that a majority of the IOA orthopaedic surgeons performed free surgeries in their hospitals and clinics but he performed free surgeries in GGH by donating implants. He said that he is continuing the free surgery services in the GGH on every Wednesday and Friday and will continue the free services through Unnati Foundation.
