Sanskrit centre opens at AP Central University
Anantapur: Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) formally inaugurated the Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Centre being run by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, at its campus in Anantapur on Friday.
Former vice chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University Prof. V.V.N. Rajendra Prasad presided over the programme. He highlighted the scientific approach in Maharishi Panini’s Ashtadhyayi.
In his introductory address, non-formal Sanskrit teacher Acharya Vishal Prasad Bhatt described the specialty of theology, political science and economics present in Sanskrit language. He inspired all students to study Sanskrit language.
Special guest of the programme, Sanskrit Bharati AP president J. Kumar Chandrashekhar underlined that the mother tongue of all Indians in the past had been Sanskrit, which is a very easy and simple scientific language. Currently too, 60 to 90 per cent of words in various languages are from Sanskrit. “Sanskrit is the mother and sustains all Indian languages,” he observed.
Dr. Upadrashta Venkatramanamurthy informed everyone about the objective of informal Sanskrit teaching scheme. He enthralled everyone by singing modern songs in Sanskrit language in a melodious voice.
Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, is running 120 informal Sanskrit learning centres by appointing one informal Sanskrit teacher each in modern educational institutions like IIT, IIM, NIT, medical and engineering colleges and universities all over India.
