Vaiko pained by Madras HC remark on Jayalalithaa's death
While refusing to say anything more about his decision to quit the PWA, he praised Modi for fight against black money.
Chennai: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Sunday expressed anguish over the Madras high court judge’s comment on former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s death.
“I was pained by the comment of Madras high court judge on former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s death. He should not have made such a comment at all. It is degrading her death,” Mr Vaiko told reporters here.
Pointing out that some were saying that a photograph of her undergoing treatment should have been released, he said that they might have thought that it would be inappropriate to release a photo of a woman leader.
While refusing to say anything more about his decision to quit the PWA, he praised Modi for fight against black money. He said that steps have been taken by the centre to hold jallikattu this year after he had given a petition to Mr Modi recently.
