Kollam: Blind singer set for record show
He has been nominated for the unique record' in International Bharat Wor-ld Record 2018.
KOLLAM: Rakesh Kumar Rajnikant from Kollam was born blind. He is also mentally challenged and autistic. Despite all this, the 37-year-old is now a singer. As a token of his expertise, he is to receive the ‘Bharat World Record’ for his 3 hour nonstop performance to be held in Kollam on Saturday. He will present the show in a function to be held at Kollam on Saturday.
He has been nominated for the ‘unique record’ in International Bharat Wor-ld Record 2018. The record will be presented after his performance singing 30 songs non-stop at the Saraswathy Hall in Kollam by 5.30 pm.
Rakesh, who never attended schools, already has performed in more than 600 stages. Despite disabilities, he is capable of singing songs in voice of all the original singers and in over 5 languages.
He has received several awards namely, Vishisht Raghuvanshikala Prathi-bha Award in 2013-14, top 50 Genius awardees by Genius Foundation Ahma-dabad, award by Parkriti Bhakt Foundation NGO in New Delhi, and award by National Association of Blind (NAB) in Kutch in 2018. Mr. Rakesh has also been nominated for award by Global Concord Found-ation in Mumbai.
