Bengaluru: Baker sets self ablaze, dies

Mysuru: A 57-year-old year man committed suicide by setting himself ablaze on the premises of a nursing college under Ashokapuram police limits here on Tuesday morning. The deceased, Raghuram – a resident of K Block in Kuvempunagar, managed a bakery at the nursing college.

Raghuram, who came to open the bakery, went to the bathroom, poured kerosene and set himself ablaze. Raghuram’s wife, Pramila Bai, has stated in the police complaint that the family was going through a financial crisis, the police said.

The tender for the bakery reportedly ended on Monday. Raghuram is survived by his wife and two children, who are married. Raghuram’s body was handed over to the family after the postmortem at KR Hospital.
