Hyderabad: Assaulted man ends life
Girl's kin attacked him and mom.
Hyderabad: Depressed at being abused by the family of a girl with whom he was in love a 23-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Medchal on Sunday.
Police said the man, N. Murali Krishna, called his brother on his mobile and said that he was unable to bear the humiliation and that he was ending his life. A suspicious death case was registered.
N. Murali Krishna, 23, a resident of Kindi Basthi aws working for a private firm in Medchal. He was in love with a girl from Medchal since two years and his family knew it, but the girl's family was not aware of it.
On Monday evening, while Murali and his friend were waiting at a bus stop, the girl alighted there. Her family who saw Murali at the bus stop thought that he was waiting for her.
Later in the evening, her parents and her brother came to Murali’s house and abused his family. “They assaulted my brother and my mother. They threatened that they would kill him,” said Murali’s elder brother Nagadurga.
After they left, Murali went out. Around 9.30 pm he called his brother and said that he wanted to end his life. “He said that he cannot live after such a humiliation and disconnected the call. But we did not expect that he would do something like this,” added Nagadurga.
Around 10 am on Tuesday the public found a body on the railway track and informed the police. "Eyewitnesses said Murali stood in front of a running train and committed suicide,” said GRP inspector Anjaneyulu.
Police registered a suspicious death case. However, no complaint was lodged with the police regarding the attack on Murali and his family on Monday.
