Kerala gets 5 more centres for NEET
The setting up of the new centres was announced by CBSE which was entrusted by the MCI to conduct the NEET examinations.
Thiruvananthapuram: Five more centres namely Alappuzha, Kollam, Kottayam, Malappuram, Palakkad have been announced for the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET- UG) examinations for admissions to MBSS and BDS courses. This is apart from the already existing five centres at Ernakulam, Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram.
Of the 43 new centres, five were added in Andhra Pradesh (Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Vizianagaram), two in Assam (Silchar, Tezpur), three in Gujarat (Godra, Patan, Valsad), four in Odisha (Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Sambalpur), six in Maharashtra (Beed, Buldhana, Jalgaon, Latur, Mumbai-Suburban, Solapur), two in Tamil Nadu (Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur), five in Kerala (Alappuzha, Kollam, Kottayam, Malappuram, Palakkad), two in Telangana (Khammam, Ranga Reddy), three in Uttar Pradesh (Allahabad, Kanpur, Meerut), three in West Bengal (Burdwan, Hoogli, North 24-Pargana) and one each in Uttarakhand (Roorkee), Karnataka (Dharwad), Punjab (Amritsar), Rajasthan (Bikaner), Jharkhand (Jamshedpur) Jammu and Kashmir (Udhampur), Himachal Pradesh (Dharamshala), Chhatisgarh (Bilaspur).

Online application forms for NEET 2018 are now available for submission till March 9. The last date for the payment of fees to write the examination - which will be held on May 6 - is March 10. Meanwhile, Delhi High Court today put on hold the operation of a CBSE notification laying down eligibility conditions, including the upper age limit of 25 and 30 years for general and reserved categories respectively, to apply for MBBS course.
The bench also allowed students from open school and those who have studied privately at a recognised board to apply for the examinations.The court made it clear that the interim order would continue till the next date of hearing on April 6. The court, while passing its interim order, made it clear that while the candidates were allowed to submit their applications for the entrance exam, it did not mean that they could sit for it.
