Venkateswara, His consorts paraded on golden chariot

Seated majestically on Garuda Vahanam, the processional deity of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy was taken all along the streets encircling the shrine at Srinivasa Mangapuram, as part the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams, on Thursday.

Tirupati: The annual brahmotsavams of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy witnes-sed a rare and unique procession, the first of its ki-nd in the history of the te-mple, where the processional deity was taken for a celestial ride on the glittering golden chariot in the streets of Srinivasa Mangapuram on Friday.

Tens of thousands of devout thronged to see the grandeur of the Lord along with his two consorts on the beautifully decked, golden chariot.

Earlier, after having a hectic day on Garuda Vahana seva on Wednesday, the Lord took a celestial ride on Hanumantha Vahana on Friday morning.

Both Garuda and Hanumantha are considered to be the favourite vehicles of the Lord as they the noblest servants who se-rved Him with devotion and dedication. They are considered to be the icons of “Saranagathi Prapatti”.
