Collector reviews Pushkar Ghat works
The collector said Rs 224 crore is needed for arrangements for Krishna Pushkaralu in Kurnool district.
Anantapur: An additional pushkar ghat is proposed at Patala Ganga of Srisailam for the upcoming Krishna Pushkaralu, said Kurnool collector Ch. Vijayamohan. It is expected that 3 to 5 lakh devotees would take part in the pushkaralu at Srisailam during holidays and hence additional compartments along with BT road is ordered at Patala Ganga.
The collector and SP A. Ravikrishna inspected Srisailam to look after arrangements for pushkaralu on Friday. The collector directed the irrigation officials to concentrate on timely completion of ghat works including steps for the convenience of devotees to take holy dip at river Krishna.
The collector said Rs 224 crore is needed for arrangements for Krishna Pushkaralu in Kurnool district. New ghats will also be constructed at Sangames waram and other parts where Krishna river flows in the district. Ravikrishna said additional forces will be posted for the pushkaralu to control traffic between Srisailam temple and Patala Ganga.
“We will post a sub divisional official to study the situation for the arrangements of bandobust", the SP said. A team of officials visited various locations at Srisailam to review over required arrangements.
