Tension in Pandalur taluk in Nilgiris as elephant kills two
Sources added that the stray wild elephant might have killed Karnan on Friday early morning.
Ooty: Tension mounted in Pandalur taluk in Nilgiris border along Kerala when two persons were trampled to death by a stray wild elephant in the Mangorange area in Pandalur. With residents getting irate, police rushed to the area to keep peace. Sources said that Manisekar (48) and Karnan (42) working at a tea estate in Mangorange were trampled to death by a wild elephant.
While the stray elephant trampled Manisekar to death on Thursday night around 9 p.m. along the Mangorange road, the body of Karnan was found along the footpath nearby. Sources added that the stray wild elephant might have killed Karnan on Friday early morning. It may be recalled that it was only on Wednesday that a man was trampled to death by a stray elephant in nearby Gudalur.
