Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao and energy minister Jagdish Reddy on Saturday accused the Opposition of trying to defame government with false propaganda unable to digest the good name it has earned from the people. Mr Harish Rao and Mr Jagdish Reddy, who attended various programmes in Siddipet district on Saturday, also launched the enhanced Kalyana Lakshmi scheme of Rs 75,116, increased from the existing Rs 50,000 for newly-married girls.
The ministers, who attended to various programmes in Siddipet district, said that if the Opposition continues with false allegations, it will be wiped out by the people. “Opposition is unable to digest the good work done by the government. As they have nothing to point fingers at, the Opposition parties are indulging in false allegations for their own survival. Every village in the past 2.5 years saw developmental activities with investment ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 20 crore,” Mr Jagdish Reddy said.
Mr Harish Rao, who also launched a scathing attack, alleged that previous governments took money to provide “Sadabainama” documents to farmers while the TRS government was doing so free of cost. “This will benefit 50,000 people in Siddipet district and 11 lakh in the state,” he said. Mr Jagdish Reddy said government was making huge investment in energy sector to ensure uninterrupted power supply to domestic, commercial, industrial, farm and other sectors.
