WARANGAL: The members of the TS-JAC Osmania University wing condemned the arrests of 12 members of KU-JAC and demanded their release immediately and unconditionally.

They staged a dharna along with the KU-JAC members in front of the first gate of Kakatiya University here in Hanamkonda on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the TS-JAC, Battu Srihari, alleged that instead of arresting the TSPSC chairman and the board members, who were responsible for the leakage of question papers and played with the lives of 30 lakh students, the state government was arresting the KU-JAC leaders by lodging false cases for questioning the government.

The Kakatiya University vice-chancellor and registrar must decide whether they will withdraw the cases against the students of KU-JAC or submit their resignations.

Even Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also must decide whether he is on the side of the students or on the side of the chairman and board members of the TSPSC, who are responsible for the leakage of question papers, he said.

The state government and the VCs of the universities are spoiling the autonomous status of the universities. By not filling the thousands of teaching and non-teaching posts that are lying vacant in all the universities, not resolving student issues, and not fulfilling the promises made to the students and unemployed youth, the state government is trying to dissolve the education system in the state, he added.

He warned to intensify the agitation until justice is done to the 30 lakh students who appeared for group examinations.

The KU-JAC founder members Dr M. Veeraswamy, Dr G. Mallesham, KU-JAC president T. Naveen, chairman Tirupati Yadav, G. Raju Naik, Prashant, M. Ranjith Kumar, M. Srinivas Reddy, G. Srinivas, Rajesh, Naresh, Rajendar, Nagaraju, and Manohar were present, along with others.
