Telangana: Line snaps, no power in many areas

Transco officials took up repairs of the line and power was restored in some areas late at night.

Hyderabad: A large number of areas in and around Kukatpally, Bolarum, Sainikpuri, Jeedimetla, Shapurnagar and Medak district went without power from Sunday evening after strong winds snapped a 220/132 kv power line between Shapurnagar and Bolaram.

Discom director, operations, Srinivas Reddy said power supply to many transformers catering to residential and industrial areas was disrupted after the cable was “grounded”. Transco officials took up repairs of the line and power was restored in some areas late at night. Officials said the line would be restored most probably by Monday morning.
