Hyderabad: Senior TD MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao has written to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu requesting him that he be appointed chairman of the TTD Trust Board, whose tenure expired on April 27. Mr Rao has been eyeing the post for the last 10 years. This time, he has even offered to resign from the Lok Sabha if he is given the TTD chairman’s post so that he cannot be accused of holding two offices of profit.

It is expected that the CM will appoint a full-fledged TTD Board before he leaves for the USA or will go for specific authority with officials as a temporary measure. When asked to comment on the issue, Mr Sambasiva Rao replied that he was not keeping well and would speak on the issue after a few days. Mr Sambasiva Rao has been eyeing the post for the last 10 years and has tried to get successive Chief Ministers under the Congress and TD regimes to give him the appointment.
