Bengaluru: Tight security at ICSE, ISC evaluation centres
The board has also directed evaluators not to share the marking scheme with any publisher.
Bengaluru: Security measures at ICSE and ISC evaluation centres across the state and country have been beefed up after a circular was issued from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) warning principals to ensure no evaluator accepts any gifts or favours from textbook publishers.
The board has come up with the directive after some schools in Kolkota were allegedly allowing representatives from publications to the premises as publishers were sponsoring lunch for evaluators.
In a notice sent to institution heads across the country, the board has asked principals and centre heads to ensure that other than the evaluators nobody should be allowed within the campus during evaluation. The letter specifies that “all marking material is sacrosanct and confidential.” Giving insight into how the process is handled in the city B. Gayatri Devi, Principal, Little Flower Public School, Banashankari told Deccan Chronicle that she has not come across similar situations in the city over the years.
“Centralised evaluation centres here have tight security measures in place always, which makes it difficult for even employees of the host school to move around,” she said. Around ten centres have been set up in the city, different locations for different papers and the evaluation process will be over shortly. According to sources, both ICSE and ISC results can be expected by the end of second week this month.
Further, the letter read, “At no point, during the marking period at an evaluation centre, are the examiners to interact with any unauthorised personnel. The marking area is out-of-bounds to all except the centre-in-charge.”
The board has also directed evaluators not to share the marking scheme with any publisher.
