Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday asked the city’s police commissioner and Nampally police station officer to respond in a case filed before it alleging that the police had not lodged an FIR against those responsible for the fiasco in the valuation of answer sheets and tallying of Inter exam marks.

Justice Shameem Akther issued notices to the police to respond by June 8 on the plea by S. Naresh, a practising lawyer, who alleged that the Nampally police was not keen to lodge an FIR against Telangana minister for higher education, principal secretary, Intermediate board secretary and a private agency, Globarena, for  their negligence in the Inter marks fiasco.

The petitioner told the court that he had given a complaint against the said persons because innocent students were forced to commit suicide due to the large scale fiasco committed by the said persons during the process of evaluation of Intermediate exams in Telangana.

“However, the police did not take my complaint at first and later they received the complaint, but did not lodge any FIR,” the petitioner told the court. He requested the HC to direct the police to register a case against the responsible persons for negligence.
