Minister issued non-bailable warrant for rail roko agitation

The leaders were accused in the rail roko agitation during Samaikyandhra movement in the year 2012.

AMARAVATI: The railway court at Guntur issued non-bailable warrants to minister for agriculture P. Pulla Rao, Telugu Desam MLA, A. Rajendra Prasad, former legislators Ziauddin and L. Eswara Rao and YSR Congress state secretary L. Appi Reddy. The leaders were accused in the rail roko agitation during Samaikyandhra movement in the year 2012 and the railway police registered a case.

As the leaders failed to attend three hearings, the court issued non-bailable warrants. According to the reports, the leaders conducted rail roko agitation by stopping trains at Guntur railway station opposing state’s bifurcation for Telangana formation. The railway court on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrants to minister and others and postponed the next hearing of the case to June 7 and seeking united AP. A case was registered by the railway police against the leaders for obstructing train services and duties of railway employees. But minister Mr. Pulla Rao, Tenali TD MLA, Mr. Rajendra Prasad, Mr. Ziauddin, Mr. Eswara Rao and Mr. Appi Reddy were not attending the court for hearing the case for three times. The railway court on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrants to minister and others and postponed the next hearing of the case to June 7.
