State Cabinet allocates 100 acres to Coca-Cola
Soft drink firm to invest about Rs 1,375 crore in project.
VIJAYAWADA: The AP Cabinet has allocated 100 acres of land to the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages at Krishnapalem in Visakhapatnam. The company would invest about Rs 1,375 crore in this project and 3,645 members are expected to get employment. The Cabinet, which met here Wednesday, also allocated 95 acres of land to SL Defence Solutions at Somanchipalli in Gudipudi mandal. The company aims to invest about Rs 300 crore. It could generate about 500 direct and 4,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The Sandhya Ceramics was allocated 75 acres of land at Velampadu village in Chittoor district. The company promises to invest Rs 140 crore, and create roughly 500 jobs. The Cabinet also allocated 30 acres of land to the department of fisheries aquatic quarantine facilities in Gunipudi Village in Nakkapalli Mandal of Visakhapatnam.
The Pulse Survey would be conducted from June 20 to 30 and July 5 to 30, said minister for information Palle Raghunath Reddy after the Cabinet meeting. It decided to conduct a socio-economic survey on 1.45 crore families in the state.
Mr Raghunath Reddy said that from June 10 to 20, the employees' transfers would take place. It also finalised the modalities for the scheme started by the government on Chandranna Bheema. He said the government would give upto Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the families of those who died in mishaps, or those who have been handicapped in an accident.
There would be an insurance cover for natural death for a sum of Rs 30,000 and for accident deaths Rs 5 lakh. For damage to body parts, the amount would be Rs 3,62,500. Those who have income below Rs 15,000 per month and aged between 18 and 70 are eligible for this scheme. For implementation of this scheme, about Rs 170 crore is required. Of this, Rs 150 crore has been borne by the state government.
The state Cabinet has accepted a proposal for organising the Maha Sankalpam meeting at Ongole on June 8. The Cabinet approved the Jonna Vittula-written and Vandemataram Srinivas-sung theme song on Nava Nirmana Deeksha.
The Cabinet has also decided to provide cycles to students in all government and aided schools, including municipal schools.
Notifications to be issued for 10000 posts:
The AP Cabinet has decided to fill about 10,000 posts in the fist phase of a recruitment scheme. The government would release a series of notifications in this respect. Except for the police posts, all the vacancies would be filled through the APPSC.
The Cabinet has decided to announce Group-1, 2, 3 notifications soon. The Group-1 notification with 94 posts, Group-2 notification with 750 posts and Group-3 notification with 1,000 posts would be announced soon by the APPSC. The police department would issue a notification with highest number of vacancies — about 6,000.
