Chennai: Two days after Infosys employee A. Ilayaraja’s death in the office dormitory in Mahindra City in Kancheepuram near here, family members from Villupuram are still seeking answers to many questions.

“His phone was not reachable from  Monday afternoon. But his wife Revathi says that she had charged it 100 per cent on Monday morning. There was enough power for the phone to run for at least two days. We don’t know why he became unreachable from  Monday  evening,” noted Suresh, Revathi’s brother.

According to him, Revathi was under the impression that her husband was busy inviting people for their house warming function, scheduled for June 4 in Tindivanam in Villupuram. Ilayaraja usually travelled from Tindivanam to Mahindra City daily and some days stayed at the office if there is any urgent work to be finished.

But Revathi was worried and kept trying Ilayaraja’s number. It was only Tuesday night around 11 pm she got a call from the Infosys office saying that her husband was not well and was admitted to Chengalpet GH. After informing relatives she, mother of two young daughters, went to the hospital on Wednesday morning only to find her husband’s dead body.

By the time Infosys administration took Ilayaraja, who was found without clothes in office dormitory, to the hospital on Tuesday night, he was dead. Infosys employees believed that he was sleeping and only in the night when they tried to wake him up, they noticed that he was not responding.

“We have asked the CCTV footage. But the Infosys management has told us that they would give it only to investigators,” Suresh noted. The family also noted that the mobile phone and office bag of Ilayaraja were in the custody of police.

Suresh also pointed that Ilayaraja has not taken any loan to build his new house, but had sold some piece of land to generate money to construct the house.

Police on Thursday  maintained that they would investigate the case based on the autopsy report.
