Registration of unapproved plots can go on: Madras High Court
If the authorities refuse to register, he is at liberty to approach the appropriate court but not this court.
Chennai: The Madras high court has made it clear that registration of unapproved plots/ layouts can go on as per its interim orders and according to the rules framed by the state government.
On Thursday, advocate Haja Mohideen Gisthi made a mention before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M.Sundar that despite the orders passed by the court to register unapproved plots as per the rules framed by the government, the authorities are not registering it.
The bench orally replied that the court had already passed interims orders that the registration can go on but all the registrations are subject to the final orders of the court in the main petitions. Therefore, if the authorities refuse to register, he is at liberty to approach the appropriate court but not this court.
