Age limit increased for TNPSC exams

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has increased the age limit of candidates appearing for competitive examination conducted by TNPSC for posts falling under Group-1 category.

Making an announcement under Rule 110 in the Assembly on Friday Palaniswami said, "I am happy to announce the scheme under Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department." He announced the revised qualifying age to appear in TNPSC Group-I Examination. The upper limit has been increased from 35 years to 37 years for SC, ST, MBC, BC and DNC category and from 30 years to 32 years for other categories. This will be applicable to Group-1, 1-A and 1-B examination. The age limit has been increased based on plea from various sections of people and keeping in line with similar competitive examinations conducted by Central government authorities.

The CM also stated that the government has planned to set up IT buildings and other infrastructure at a cost of Rs 100 crore in Coimbatore and Rs 40 crore in Tiruchy for the benefit of entrepreneurs. The government has also decided to establish infrastructure for providing uninterrupted Internet service at a cost of Rs 21 crore by Elcot.  Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation has been rendering digital cable service to people. The government has decided to improve the service through HD set-top box.
