Hyderabad: Shops fined for charging for carry bag
They were charged for the plastic carry bag when they visited the store for shopping.
Hyderabad: In two separate cases, the Telangana State Consumers Information and Redressal Centre has fined Ratnadeep Super Market and Taruni cloth store Rs 6,000 each for charging customers for plastic carry bag containing the company logo.
The fines were levied on Friday following complaints by law student Ms Ch. Sriharsh-itha, and another student Mr Akash Kumar.
They were charged for the plastic carry bag when they visited the store for shopping.
An official said that the Consumers Inform-ation and Redressal Centre had served notices as soon as they received the complaints to the establishments. Following this, Ratna-deep Super Markets and Taruni cloth store also stopped charging for the branded plastic covers.
