AP SC, ST Commission chairman warns against diversion of funds

Amaravati: The AP State SC, ST Commission sought spending of funds for the development of SC/ST communities.
Commission chairman K. Sivaji, while conducting a review meeting with the government departments at Guntur on Friday said that diversion of SC/ST funds cannot be allowed in any circumstances and warned about action against officials concerned for funds diversion. He demanded similar compensation of Metta and Jareebu lands to SC/ST farmers’ lands in the Amaravati capital region villages.
Addressing the review meeting at ZP meeting hall, Mr Sivaji said that Civil Rights Day should be conducted on the last day of every month by the police department and police officials should review about the law and order situation and should resolve the cases of SC/STs. He directed the officials to use the sub-plan funds for the development of SC/ST communities.
Pointing out the complaints about absence of grounding of SC Corporation schemes, he sought immediate grounding of sanctioned schemes. Lamenting over the unhygienic conditions in the SC/ST colonies, he sought establishment of dumping yards in every SC/ST colony.
Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy submitted a memorandum about the absence of social security pensions to the public of 10 villages of Amaravati capital region in the Mangalagiri Assembly constit-uency.
Mentioning about lot of complaints about the absence of social security pensions to the poor farmers of the Amaravati capital region village, Mr Sivaji directed the officials to provide social security pensions to all eligible farmers, agriculture labourers and various sections of the society belonging to 29 villages of Amaravati capital region.
Guntur rural SP K. Narayan Naik explained that the police department is conducting Civil Liberties Day every month and receiving complaints from SC/ST people.
Guntur district collector Kantilal Dande explained about the SC/ST welfare schemes implemented in the district.
