Midday Meal for Intermediate students in AP
The decision is getting mixed opinions from the public and the Student leaders are welcoming the scheme.
Vijayawada: The Midday meals programme will be started for Intermediate students in Andhra Pradesh from July 2. The state government is trying to overcome the corporate effect on the Intermediate students and started several reforms in the Government Junior Colleges.
The AP government has introduced English medium in those colleges and is also changing the syllabus according to skill-oriented needs. Now, the government is going to start the Midday Meals programme for the Intermediate students in the government colleges. If it becomes a success, it may help reduce the the private and corporate mania among students.
This decision will fulfil the major need of the poor students. Till the date, the midday meals program was implemented from Class 1 to 10th in the schools. But now it is also implementing to the Junior colleges. The decision is getting mixed opinions from the public and the Student leaders are welcoming the scheme.
“The decision to serve Midday meal to Inter students will give a good response and, this will help to strengthen the colleges,” said Ch. Venkataiah, a parent.
